The Pine Ridge Snow Park Ski Patrol

The Pine Ridge Snow Park Ski Patrol is once again part of the National Ski Patrol System. It is currently in its rebuilding years and is looking for dedicated men, women and students to become volunteer members.

All Ski Patrollers are trained or participate in refresher courses in accordance with national standards, they are also CPR certified. Many programs, both local and regional, are available for patrollers. Leadership opportunities are also available for patrollers. Training for patrollers and candidates is scheduled in conjunction with other nearby Ski Areas as needed.

Barre’s connection to the founding of the National Ski Patrol

At the request of Roger F. Langley, a long time Barre resident, Minnie Dole started the National Ski Patrol in 1938. Dole had worked to organize a patrol for The National Ski Championship at Stowe, Vermont. Langley, then the president of the National Ski Association liked what he saw and asked Dole to chair a committee to form a National Ski Patrol like the one they had there.
