Powderhouse Hill Ski Area

South Berwick, Maine

Over the weekend I heard about this small area in Maine.  Since I was on my way back to Massachusetts from North Conway New Hampshire I decided to check it out.  It was a neat little place, a great mom and pop type area.  Like many other small areas, it often serves as the community babysitter when it is open.  There were a handful of kids there on skis and snowboards and another handful sliding.  The hill had an 800 foot rope and an approximate vertical of 150 feet.  While I was there I learned that the hill has a race scheduled for March 15th.

I spoke to several people at the area and explored the area taking many pictures.  Everyone there was friendly and seemed eager to talk about their little area.  Below are pictures of the area (click on each picture to enlarge it).  The information I received about the area during my visit has been forwarded to NELSAP

Because of a recent injury to my wrist I was only able to ride up the rope tow once.  It was a neat little area and it seemed like the kids who were there were having a great time.
