Ski Center.  Site of the 1980 Winter Olympic Alpine Events.  Thrilling action on the Olympic downhill course as a racer is caught mid-air.  Whiteface features the highest vertical drop in the east...3440', a variety of lifts, complete base lodge, mid-station cafeteria, snowmaking and ski school.  Lifts operate winter and summer affording skiers and tourists a magnificent view of the High Peak region and Lake Placid.		"The World's Highest Artificial Ski Slide."  Pine Mountain Ski Slide, Iron Mountain, Michigan.  Pine Mountain Ski Slide, the world's highest artificial ski jump, located in the Iron Mountain-Kingsford district, is rapidly becoming the outstanding center of the Northland for winter sports enthusiasts.
