Caberfae Ski Area, Cadillac Michigan These skiers comprise part of the 47,000 people who participated in winter sports at this popular area during the 1955-56 ski season

 

 

Shelter house at Caberfae near Cadillac, Michigan.  Michigan's largest Winter Sports Area, 16 miles west of Cadillac near m55.  This popular racort features 30 ski runs, 25 acre slalom bowl, 2 jumps, 20 tows, new double chair, snow machine, in fact everything for your pleasure and comfort.

Located in the Manistee National Forest, 16 miles west of Cadillac, just north of M 55.  It is the rendezvous of thousands of ski enthusiasts each winter, because of the multiple thrills of its 30 runs.  There are 20 rope tows, a double chair lift and large snow making machine to make it the most complete ski resort in the mid west.  There is a Certified Ski School with seven instructors, and a rental shop with 400 pair of skiing equipment.  It is operated on a non-profit permit from the US Forest Service by Caberfae Inc. of Cadillac, Mich.

  Copper Peak  Ski Flying Hill and Chair Lift and Elevator, Ironwood, Michigan.  World's Highest Artificial Ski Slide. the Only ski flying hill ont the American continent.  242 feet above the top of the hill.  Length of the run is 469 feet.  See Lake Superior 1200 feet above the lake.  You can see three stated.  A thrill of a lifetime.  It's fantastic, riding on the chair lift or watching skiers.

CHAIRLIFT AT INDIANHEAD MOUNTAIN  This new chairlift accommodates 1200 skiers per hour.  It extends 3500 feet -- longest in the midwest.  Indianhead Mountain Ski Area is located just off Hiway 2, Upper Peninsula of Michigan at Wakefield and Bessemer and 9 miles east of Ironwood.
