What it Takes To Be

A Top Junior Racer

Two years out of high school, in 1955, Jill was a shoe-in for the US Olympic Ski Team. Jill was the first woman to win the junior and senior women's slalom title in the same year. When this photo graced the cover of Sports Ilustrated, was training for the Olympics.  Ironically, this photo was on the cover when she experienced a violent wipe-out during the big Snow Cup race at Alta, Utah, that left her a C-5/6 quadriplegic.  This was the last qualifying race for the olympic tryouts.  Of course, all news reporters say that she would've made the olympic team...if only...she hadn't fallen...if only...

Jill was born on 02/16/1936 and is 69.
