Arthur E.
Tokle was born in Norway in 1922 and came to the United States in 1947.
Art jumped for the U.S. in the 1952 and 1960 Olympics, and in the 1958
World Championships. He coached the U.S. jumping squad at the '64 and
'68 Olympics, and served as a technical director for the 1980 games. He
was inducted into the US National Ski Hall of Fame in 1970. Arthur
died on March 3, 2005 at the age of 82, sixty years to the day after his
brother Torger,one of the greatest U.S. jumping champions, was killed in
Italy, fighting in the 10th Mountain Division |
